CHP Traffic 3.1 Coming Soon

posted Dec 4, 2011 3:40 PM by Michael Santos

We have identified an issue affecting a small number of users with the latest version (3.0) of CHP Traffic. If the Favorites or Nearby tab has only one section, the application may crash when you attempt to view an incident's details. Before an update (3.1) is approved by Apple, you can work around this issue by doing the following:

* Use the Favorites tab, and make sure to select at least two favorite regions.
* Expand the "search range" setting so that at least two regions show up in your Nearby view.

Note that in most major metropolitan areas, the Nearby tab is likely to show more than one region no matter how narrow the search range is.

CHP Incident Feed Down

posted May 4, 2011 8:53 AM by Michael Santos

The incident feed used by CHP Traffic is currently down. As a result, CHP Traffic cannot fetch any incident information. We are working with the CHP to get an ETA on service restoration. Please see our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/chptraffic) for the latest information.

Version 2.2 coming soon

posted Apr 28, 2011 9:36 PM by Michael Santos

Version 2.2 will soon be live in the App Store. Among the improvements: optimized data refreshes (in rare cases, this could be more than a minute faster, and server fallback will be faster during maintenance periods), completely redesigned the Favorites chooser so that Favorites can be arranged by the user, and added some minor options.

Problem with 2.0.0 identified; version 2.0.1 submitted

posted Mar 11, 2011 10:00 PM by Michael Santos

We've identified the source of a crash on iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.1. When the Nearby tab is selected on those devices, the application will crash. Unfortunately, the default tab in the absence of any saved configuration is the Nearby tab, so there is no work around for version 2.0.0 except to update the OS to version 4.2 or 4.3. However, version 2.0.1 has been submitted to the App Store with a fix for this issue and will hopefully be available early next week. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Some customers experiencing problems with 2.0.0

posted Mar 11, 2011 9:36 AM by Michael Santos

We've received reports from a few customers that are having problems with version 2.0.0 after updating. While the application is working for the majority of users, some users are reporting problems ranging from an occasional crash to inability to use the application at all. If you experience a crash (ever, not just with this update), we'd like to hear about it so we can work on fixing it. iOS devices automatically sync crash reports from your device to the computer then next time you sync your device. It is extremely helpful when you transmit those logs to us. The Support page has information on where to find the crash reports on Mac OS X and various versions of Windows.

CHP 2.0 available; "diagnostics available" message

posted Mar 9, 2011 9:48 PM by Michael Santos

CHP Traffic 2.0 is available NOW on the App Store. Please note that when you first launch the new version, you may see a "Diagnostics Available" message. Previous versions recorded crash information, but only version 2.0 offers to transmit that information to us. You can send the error log, or you can choose "don't send" to delete the error log. Of course, if you experience problems with version 2.0, please send the error logs and/or contact us. We want to resolve any issues you may experience!

CHP Traffic rises to #5; beta testers wanted (in the near future)

posted Dec 22, 2010 10:02 PM by Michael Santos   [ updated Dec 22, 2010 10:08 PM ]

CHP Traffic has risen to #5 in the Travel section of the App Store. Thanks to everyone for their support!

Also, we've been putting the finishing touches on version 2.0 of the app, which will be using brand new servers to provide CHP content. In order to help load-test these new servers, we'll be looking for a few beta testers to help out. If you're interested in helping out, please use the feedback link in the application at the bottom of the Settings tab to get in touch with us.

Thanks again, and happy holidays!
